Abstract
Tumor-induced osteomalacia (TIO) is an ultrarare disorder that is caused by renal phosphate wasting due to uncontrolled tumoral production of fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) from phosphaturic mesenchymal tumors. Surgical removal of the tumor is curative.
