Abstract
Gastrointestinal malignant melanomas, either primary or metastatic, are rare and overlooked tumors. There is also controversy regarding the actual existence of primary melanoma in the gastrointestinal tract apart from the esophagus and anorectal regions, where melanocytes normally exist.
