Background & AimsDisordered metabolism, steatosis, hepatic inflammation, and fibrosis contribute to the pathogenesis of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) catalyzes the first committed step in de novo lipogenesis (DNL) and modulates mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation.
