Abstract
Achalasia is an esophageal motility disorder of impaired lower esophageal sphincter relaxation and absent peristalsis. The presenting symptoms are commonly dysphagia, chest pain, regurgitation, and weight loss. Hiccups have been associated with gastrointestinal diseases but uncommonly associated with achalasia.
