Abstract
A subpopulation of neurons located within the arcuate nucleus, colocalizing kisspeptin, neurokinin B, and dynorphin (Dyn; termed KNDy neurons), represents key mediators of pulsatile GnRH secretion. The KNDy model of GnRH pulse generation proposes that Dyn terminates each pulse. However, it is unknown where and when during a pulse that Dyn is released to inhibit GnRH secretion.
