An unprecedented crystal-packing arrangement of a tetramethoxy-bay-substituted perylene bisimide (PBI) consists of three crystallographically independent molecules, that is, an achiral (AC) PBI of saddle-shaped geometry along with two pairs of propeller-like twisted (P)- and (M)-enantiomeric PBI frameworks.
