Abstract
Hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) has an immunosuppressive effect. The possible mechanisms of this immunosuppressive effect were assessed by determining the production of interleukin-1 (IL-1), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), as well as phagocytosis by splenic macrophages from HBO-treated mice.
