Abstract
We propose alternative methods for performing FE-based computational fracture: a mixed mode extrinsic cohesive law and crack evolution by edge rotations and nodal reposition. Extrinsic plastic cohesive laws combined with the discrete version of equilibrium form a nonlinear complementarity problem.
