Summary β ‐Hydroxybutyricacid ( BHBA ) is an important metabolite that involved in the development of ketosis and fatty liver in dairy cows. Dairy cows with fatty liver displayed high blood concentration of BHBA and very low‐density lipoprotein ( VLDL ) assembly.
