The ethyl acetate and methanol extracts from aerial parts of Tanacetum balsamita yielded a new derivative of 1-acetyl-erivanin, namely 1-acetyl-3-epi-erivanin (17), some known compounds, namely seventeen sesquiterpene lactones, five flavonoids, four coumarins, and a steroid. Tagetes lucida is widely used in traditional Mexican medicine for several disorders, including those associated with inflammation. In this work, fifteen compounds were identified (1-15) from T. lucida. Several phenanthrenes (1-5), phenolics (6-8) and steroidal sapogenins (9-11) were isolated for the first time from the aqueous and methanolic extracts of Dioscorea sansibarensis Pax yam collected from Tanzania. Two new oleanane saponins, hedyocoronin A (1) and hedyocoronin B (2), were isolated from the aerial parts of Hedyotis coronaria (Kurz) Craib, Rubiaceae, collected at Da Oai district, Lam Dong province in Vietnam. Their chemical structures were elucidated by HR-MS, 1D and 2D-NMR spectra, along with the comparison with those reported in the literature. Compounds 1 and 2 showed weak cytotoxicity against KB and HeLa-S3 cancer cell lines with IC50 values of more than 54 µM.

A novel 3-(hydroxymethyl)-4-(methylamino)-dihydrofuran-2(3H)-one (1) was isolated for the first time from the leaves of Pithecellobium dulce (Roxb.) Benth., along with kaempferol (2) and kaempferol-3-rhamnoside (3). A new anthraquinone, asperquinone A (1), and four known anthraquinone derivatives 2-5 were isolated from the mangrove endophytic fungus Aspergillus sp. 16-5C. These structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis and the absolute configuration of 1 was unambiguously determined by ECD calculation. Compounds 1-5 showed no significant inhibitory effect against Mycobacterium tuberculosis protein tyrosine phosphatase B (MptpB).
