Germ-cell tumours (GCTs) affect predominantly younger males aged between 15 and 40 years, with nearly 74 500 new cases estimated globally in 2020.1 About one-third of all GCT cases worldwide are diagnosed in Europe. Testicular GCT (TGCT) is the most common malignant GCT, with noted geographic variations.2 The highest incidence rates in 2010 (per 100 000) were observed in Denmark with 10.2 and Norway with 11.5 and are currently declining in these two countries.
