Abstract
Iron-based alloy coatings were deposited on grey cast iron through plasma transfer arc welding. Results showed that the iron-based alloy coatings are composed of pearlite, martensite, austenite, and secondary carbides. There formed a bonding transformation layer between coating and grey cast iron with the width of about 205 μm.
