The ophthalmology community mourns the loss of Frederick A. Jakobiec, MD, DSc, who passed away in November 2020 after a distinguished 52-year career as an innovator and leader in the field of ophthalmic pathology. Dr. Jakobiec served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Manhattan Eye & Ear until 1989, when he became Chief/Chair of ophthalmology at Mass Eye and Ear/Harvard through 2002, after which he continued to serve on faculty until his death....
