Diagnosis and Management of Divergence Paresis

Divergence paralysis may present with varying degrees of severity ranging from total paralysis to more subtle forms of weakness. There is a wide spectrum of symptoms. The classic presentation consists of a sudden onset of concomitant esotropia with diplopia. Frequently however, patients may complain of blurred vision rather than diplopia.
