Abstract
A catalytic, transition-metal-free synthesis of spiroisoxazolines is outlined. This protocol provides, for the first time, a direct access to spiroisoxazolines from aryl (thio)ethers or (thio)phenols in one synthetic step via an oximation/dearomatization cascade.
