The prime minister of India has declared a three-week nationwide lock-down starting from midnight the 25th of March 2020 to the 14th of April 2020, explaining that it was an essential and effective measure for breaking the COVID-19 infection cycle. Social distancing is a criticalmeans to break the cycle of infection. There is a significant decrease in growth rate and increased doubling time of cases because of the lockdown (Lau et al., 2020)
