Introduction: HRCT is considered to be the most informative method for assessing the anatomical substrate of the bronchopulmonary system. Aims: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the clinical significance of HRCT imaging changes in BPD in premature infants. Methods: Al 32 children were part of a cohort study, who are evaluated for respiratory morbidity in the Pneumology Clinic, who presented a positive history of premature delivery and oxygen therapy for respiratory distress syndrome. Five children born prematurely did not have BPD.CT lung were performed with the 80-slice CT-scanner Aquilion Prime Results: With the mean age of gestation at brith 2,48-0,26(range from 0,3 years to 6);the control group of premature babies without BPD were examined at age 2,4-0,53(0,9 to 3,8), F=0,01, p&gt;0,05.CT in children with BPD diagnosis:lung pleural adthesions to16 children(59,3%:95CI,38,8-77,6);liniar reticular opacities to 19(70,4%:95CI,49,8-86,2)opacities"matte glass" to 20(74,1%:95 CI53,7-88,9);mosaic attenuation and hyperinflation to 21(77,8%:95CI57,7-91,4)and the most frequent atelectatic infiltration area in 22(81,5%95:CI,61,9-93,7). In children in the control group at pulmonary CT there was no evidence, but in 2 cases(40%:95CI,5,3-85,3) has been detected: mosaic attenuation and atelectatic infiltrative areas. Conclusions: Pulmonary changes evaluated in HRCT are indicative of the diagnosis of by BPD in preterm infants.
