Abstract
The shear and tensile strengths of carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) laminate joints by ultrasonic welding were investigated by lap shear tests (LSTs) and cross tensile tests (CTTs). The adherends were the cross-ply and the twill woven CFRTP laminates, and the flat energy director (FED) was used to clarify its effectiveness.
