Abstract
The present study utilizes the basic reproductive number ‘ R 0 ’ to make sense of the Indian Institute of Technologies' (IITs) doctoral population growth. The analysis shows that the R 0 for seven IITs under study, and for the engineering disciplines in these IITs, has increased over time.
