Trident pair production in plane waves: Coherence, exchange, and spacetime inhomogeneity

We study the trident process in inhomogeneous plane wave background fields. We obtain compact analytical expressions for all terms in the probability, including the exchange part, for an arbitrarily shaped plane wave.
