A metallographic study of diffusion-induced grain boundary migration in the Fe-Zn system
Abstract
Diffusion-induced grain boundary migration has been studied by zincification of pure iron. The temperature dependence of the rate was measured at 460–650°C A change in morphology was observed between 460 and 650°C and may explain the fact that the phenomenon changed character at higher temperatures.
