Abstract
Hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) is a thermal conversion process which converts wet biomass into hydrochar. In this study, a low-energy HTC process named “Two-stage HTC” comprising of hydrolysis and carbonization stages using faecal sludge as feedstock was developed and optimized.
