Abstract
During the 1970s (1973-1979), 41 patients with tricuspid atresia and 25 patients with double-inlet left ventricle had a Fontan procedure performed at the Mayo Clinic. In the tricuspid atresia group, there were seven hospital deaths and six late deaths, leaving 28 survivors 11-16 years after surgery.
