We report the synthesis and structural characterization of two coordination polymers (CPs) namely; [{Zn( L )(DMF) 4 } · 2BF 4 ] α ( 1 ) and [{Cd( L ) 2 (Cl) 2 } · 2H 2 O] α ( 2 ) (where L = N 2 ,N 6 -di(pyridin-4-yl)naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxamide). Crystal packing of 1 reveals the existence of channels running along the b - and c -axis filled by the ligated DMF and lattice anions, respectively. Whereas, crystal packing of 2 reveals that the metallacycles of each 1D chain are intercalating into th...

Four examples of stable nonaromatic pyridine containing heteroheptaphyrins (pyrithiaheptaphyrins) 2-5 were synthesized in 8-13% yields by [5+2] condensation of newly synthesized pyridine based pentapyrrane 8 and bithiophene diol 9a-d. The X-ray crystallographic analysis of macrocycle 2 proved that the macrocycle assumes a highly planar structure with two inverted thiophene rings. The heteroheptaphyrins 2-5 are asymmetric and showed a greater number of resonances in 1H NMR compared to our previou...

The Group 15 Pn(I) cations (Pn=N, P, As, Sb and Bi), which are isoelectronic with the donor-stabilized carbones, have emerged recently. Despite the presence of two lone pair of electrons, the Pn(I) cations are weakly nucleophilic due to their inherent positive charge. Strongly electron-donating supporting ligands including zwitterionic forms have been used to enhance their Lewis basicity. Furthermore, the chelating effect of cyclic ligand systems proved effective in increasing their nucleophilic...

ortho-Alkynylarylketone derivatives were employed as key precursors for a one-pot synthesis of arylnaphthalenelactone and furanonaphthol libraries. In this work, we discovered a cost-effective protocol to prepare arylnaphthalenelactones in one-pot using inexpensive starting material, malonate ester, which was conveniently functionalized leading to a variety of structures. Moreover, we also found an unexpected oxy-dearylation reaction which could be used to synthesize furanonaphthol analogs. Thes...

Developing efficient adsorbent materials is crucial for adsorption and separation to realize the purification of energy source and raw chemicals. Here, we report a novel and robust 3D In-based MOF built up with fluorine-functionalized ligands, QMOF-2F, with improved separation properties of C2-light hydrocarbons over methane at room temperature respect isoreticular non-fluorinated MOF. QMOF-2F shows a remarkable chemical stability in different solvents, including water, and pH (2-12). DFT calcul...

Preparation of organic crystals mainly depends on solution-deposition, sublimation, and melt-deposition techniques. Solid-state growth methods are generally not suitable for organic crystal growth due to the unprocurable mass transfer. Herein, we report two pyridine-substituted fluorenone compounds with extraordinary crystal-growth capacity, and these compounds can directly and quickly form single crystals from their amorphous solid powder by heating under antisolvent-assistance conditions. The ...

Organic ferroelectrics due to their low cost, easy preparation, light weight, high flexibility and phase stability are gaining tremendous attention in the field of portable electronics. In this work, we report the synthesis, structure and ferroelectric behavior of a two-component ammonium salt 2, containing a bulky [Bn(4-BrBn)NMe2 ]+ (Bn=benzyl and 4-BrBn=4-bromobenzyl) cation and tetrahedral (BF4 )- anion. The structural analysis revealed the presence of rich non-classical C-H⋅⋅⋅F and C-H⋅⋅⋅Br ...
Herein, we present a molecular design of chrysene-based deep-blue emissive materials (TC, TpPC, TpXC, and TmPC), in which chrysene as a core is functionalized with different triphenylamine moieties to realize a fine-tuning deep-blue fluorescence with superior electroluminescent (EL) performance. The photophysical analyses and density functional theory (DFT) calculations disclose that TC, TpPC, and TpXC possess HLCT characteristics with intense deep-blue emission in the solid-state, good hole-tra...
