This study investigated about the developments of insulation panels from multilayered coir long and short fiber reinforced phenol formaldehyde polymeric (PF) resin. The lengths of coir long fibers (CLF) were within 3 mm, whereas the short fibers (CSF) ranged from 0.1 mm to 1.25 mm. Four composite panels of 360, 680, 800, and 1000 kg/m3 densities were developed by employing hot pressing technology. The thermal conductivity, microstructural, mechanical, and physical properties of the composite pan...

In this work, the effects of accelerated thermo-oxidative, hydrolytic and hygrothermal aging on the mechanical and chemical properties of a polyurethane based (PUB) adhesive are presented. The adhesive is extensively used in automobile industry particularly as a glass sealant. PUB is inevitably exposed to the hygrothermal environment during service life and the integrity of matrix interface is most vulnerable. This study focuses on weighing and comparing effects of different aging environments o...

Developments of lignocellulosic natural fibers reinforced hybrid thermosetting composites (LNFRHTCs) are essential in the current scenario as far as the environmental safety is concerned. The hybrid composites develop from this type of materials are aiming to introduce new dimensions for sustainability. LNFRHTCs exhibit a wide range of high-end properties suitable for structural applications. Moreover, the improvement of hybrid composites by incorporation of natural fibers is economical and poss...

Polycaprolactone (PCL) / Polylactic acid (PLA) blend composite, as one of the most used matrix composites for FDM printing, whose shape memory property was little being concerned. This research focuses on the effects of the composition ratio on the shape memory property, PCL/PLA blend samples with different compositions were fabricated by FDM printer and used to test the properties of blend composites. Subsequently, the performances including thermal property, surface morphology, mechanical prop...

In this paper, the rheological properties of bio-based semi-aromatic high temperature polyamide PA5T/56 were studied by melt index meter and rotational rheometer, and the effect of PA5T content on the rheological properties was discussed. The results showed that the melt index of PA5T/56 decreased with the increase in PA5T content; The bio-based semi-aromatic high temperature polyamide PA5T/56 with different ratios was pseudoplastic fluids, and its non-Newtonian index increased with the increase...

The composite nanofiber of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)/polydiacetylene (PDA) is one of the chromic and piezoelectric sensors. In this research, we investigated the effect of adding graphene oxide (GO) nanoparticle to this composite on chromic and piezoelectric properties of the PVDF/PDA/GO. We have also examined the mechanical properties of the PVDF/PDA/GO composite. 5 nanofiber samples with 23%w/v PVDF concentration and 1/3 diacetylene with 0.1, 0.5, 1, 1.5 and, 2.5 percent of GO were prepar...

The ammonium molybdophosphate (AMP) with excellent ability of separation and extraction for radioisotope 137Cs and Cs+ in saline has a high solubility in water, which avoids its adsorbent role to extract Cs+ from enhydrous solutions directly. In our paper, the copolymers as the carrier of AMP are prepared via RAFT (reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer) polymerization, and the AMP is covalently located in shell or core of self-assembled copolymer micelles for efficient Cs+ adsorption....

A bi-functional chelating sorbent is synthesised by introducing two different functionalities (amine and amidoxime groups) subsequently on the surface of an earlier synthesized cross-linked poly-acrylonitrile beads. The cross-linked base polymer beads are normally synthesised through suspension polymerisation using acrylonitrile and styrene as monomers and divinyl benzene as cross-linking agent. The bi-functionality is introduced by amination of base polymer in the first step by reacting with di...
