The following paper presents a review of the literature related to the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) in high Andean wetland monitoring. In order to carry out a historical review, a methodology was proposed under some guiding questions, which allowed the design of a structure for background searches. Both, questions and structure, guided the search process from the macro areas, as IoT and environment, to the micro areas, such as IoT applications in wetlands monitoring.
