In this study, TC18 titanium alloy was ion implanted with Zr ions to a fluence of 3.56 × 1016, 5.53 × 1016 and 7.12 × 1016 ions cm−2. Oxidation resistance of Zr-Y coating on γ-TiAl alloy prepared by a double-glow plasma surface alloying technique was investigated in static air at 750 °C, 800 °C and 850 °C for 100 h. A Fe-Al-Cr alloyed layer was deposited onto the surface of Q235 low-carbon steel via double glow plasma surface metallurgy (DGPSM) to improve the steel’s wear resistance.
