Abstract null null The Ni-free Ti-based bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) with high glass-forming ability (GFA) can be synthesized in the (Ti, Cu, Zr)92.5Fe2.5Sn2Si1Ag2 alloy system over a wide composition range by copper-mold casting. Especially, the Ti48Cu37Zr7.5Fe2.5Sn2Si1Ag2 glassy alloy can form the BMG rod with a diameter up to 6 mm and showed a high compressive strength of ~ 2.05 GPa, elastic modulus of ~ 100 GPa, and microhardness of ~ 571 Hv. Abstract This paper demonstrates how two-dimensional (2D) planar films transform into three-dimensional (3D) multi-stable structures with 3D surface wrinkling patterns by means of magnetron sputtering. The wrinkling patterns on metal films deposited on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) elastic substrates is studied. Surface wrinkling of the Al film results from compressive thermal stresses. Ti47Cu38−xZr7.5Fe2.5Sn2Si1Ag2Pdx (x = 1, 2, 3, and 4 atomic percent, at. pct) bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) with potential for biomedical applications were fabricated by copper-mold casting. Abstract The microstructures, mechanical, corrosion, and wear behaviors of the TixZrNbTaMo (x = 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2, molar ratio) high entropy alloys (HEAs) were studied. It was found that the Ti–Zr–Nb–Ta–Mo HEAs showed a dendrite structure with two body-centered-cubic (BCC) solid solution phases. Abstract The mechanical, electrochemical, wear, and corrosive-wear behaviors of a TiZrCuPd bulk glassy alloy were investigated. The Ti-based glassy alloy demonstrates a high yield strength of 2.3 GPa, low Young's modulus of 95 GPa, and Vickers microhardness of 7.2 GPa, which are superior to those of the Ti-6Al-4V biomedical alloy.
