Abstract Ag/LaTiO2N photoanode has been fabricated by a simple and cost effective method. Ag is introducing the reduction sites to prevent the facile recombination of electron-hole pairs, before migrating to the surface for photocatalytic reactions. A cobalt-phosphate based oxygen evolution catalyst (Co-Pi, OEC) was electrochemically deposited onto the surface of resultant Ag/LaTiO2N electrode. The crystalline phase, physicochemical properties and morphologies of the products were characterized ...

ABSTRACTA sponge template method was used to synthesize scaffolds from hydroxyapatite (HAp) using varying sintering temperatures and compressive ratios. The HAp scaffolds were fabricated with collagen (COL) or collagen/HAp particles under room temperature coating conditions. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the fabricated biomaterials were analyzed by FE-SEM and EZ Test, respectively. The FE-SEM micrographs showed microporous structure of the fabricated composite scaffolds. Incorp...

Improving the photoconversion efficiency of LaTiO 2 N photoanodes is crucial in the strong oxidizing conditions and in high overpotential of four-electron water oxidation system. It is essential for electrode to improve simultaneously reduce the recombination, photo/chemical corrosion resistivity and optical losses. In our present study, the photoelectrode has been fabricated by homogeneous CoOx co-catalyst aided by impregnation annealing method and coated with an ultrathin Ni layer by electron ...

An improved variation of highly active/durable O2-evolving LaTiO2N powder-based photoelectrode has been fabricated by pre-cleaning the powder with mild polysulfonic acid and by homogeneous deposition of CoOx co-catalyst aided by microwave annealing. The treatment in aqueous solution of poly(4-styrene sulfonic acid) results in removal of surface LaTiO2N layers, forming fine pores in the crystallites. The CoOx co-catalyst by microwave deposition in Co(NH3)6Cl3/ethylene glycol homogeneously covers ...

Magnetic nanocubes, with a controlled precursor molar concentration of ferric nitrate fixed at 0.004 M to ferrous chloride ranging from 0.002 to 0.01 M, were synthesized by a new simple colloidal method at 60 °C under 1 M alkaline condition. The metallic Au-ultrathin layer was successfully functionalized on the magnetic nanocubes surface for the fabrication of the core–shell structure (Fe3O4@Au) by the borohydrate reduction of HAuCl4 in water/poly-L-histidine solution. The functionalized core–sh...

In this current study we synthesized mixed α and γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles and their synergistic toxic effect against HeLa cells was investigated under ac (alternating current) magnetic-field induction and photoirradiation conditions at room temperature. The experiment was designed to find out the cancer cell killing efficacy of as-synthesized bare γ-Fe2O3, bare α-Fe2O3 and mixed α and γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles under combined ac magnetic-field induction and photoirradiation conditions. The toxic effect ...
