Abstract null null The mechanical behavior assisted by transformation-induced plasticity was studied in an Fe-0.2%C-10%Mn steel. The starting material was subjected to large strain warm rolling at 550 °C, which corresponds to two phase region with austenite and ferrite as 50:50. Abstract null null The thermal stability of gradient microstructures in a Cu – 0.096%Cr – 0.07%Zr (wt.%) alloy subjected to equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) at 400 °C was studied. The microstructure after intense plastic straining and aging at 300–500 °C was almost the same. Aging at 600 °C led to the development of a partially recrystallized microstructure. Abstract null null A low-carbon low-alloyed steel subjected to tempforming exhibited high strength and outstanding impact toughness (KCV). The latter surprisingly increases from 412 J cm-2 at room temperature to 426 J cm-2 at 183 K. Such an unusual behaviour is attributed to delamination toughness, which is provided by the ultrafine lamellar microstructure. Namely, the rapid delamination crosswise to the impact direction blunts the crack and significantly increases the impact toughness.

The features of discontinuous dynamic recrystallization (DRX) in a highly-alloyed austenitic stainless steel were studied at temperatures of 800 °C to 1100 °C. Hot deformation accompanied by DRX was characterized by an activation energy of 415 kJ/mol. The mechanical properties and deformation behavior of a Cu-Cr-Zr alloy after solution treatment (ST) or aging (ST+AT) and equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) at elevated temperature were investigated.
