Питання біоіндикації та екології.2019.Вип. 24, № 1 -Boulevard), 53.3 % (Aleksandr Pole Avenue) and 69.1 % (Donetsk highway).Since the literature data indicate the role of SOD in protecting plants from oxidative degradation, the established level of activity of SOD in the seeds of Sorbus aucuparia L. has an adaptive nature and is aimed at the destruction of the superoxide radical.Relatively high activity of the enzyme may be the result of increased expression of its gene, or by activating latent forms of the enzyme.So, the adaptation of Sorbus aucuparia L. wood species to the action of pollutants occurs due to the activation of SOD, which may indicate an intense course of neutralization of reactive oxygen species: 1.5-1.8times as compared with control values.The level of growth of the enzyme activity in the seeds was determined by the degree of contamination of the experimental sites.In the seeds of Sorbus aucuparia L. of anthropogenically polluted areas in the process of ripening, the growth of superoxide dismutase activity in August and September and the decrease of its activity in October were detected.Indicators of activity of SOD can be used with a high degree of reliability to assess the state of plants in stressful conditions and their resistance to aerotechnogenic contamination.
