The clutter mitigation problem is studied in this work by utilizing the joint low-rank and sparse framework in through-the-wall radar. In the proposed method, the task of separating wall clutter and targets returns is cast as a low-rank and sparse constrained optimization model. To solve the optimization model, an alternating direction method of multipliers is developed. Finally, the delay-and-sum beamforming is applied for the image formation. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is very effective at clutter mitigation in different scenes.
