Key features of this new method include the synthesis of pyrrole‐derived α,β‐alkynyl ketones, the introduction of various substituents into the alkyne functionality by Sonogashira cross‐coupling, the synthesis of pyrazole units by reaction of α,β‐alkynyl compounds with hydrazine monohydrate, a gold‐catalyzed cyclization of pyrazoles with alkyne units, and subsequent cyclization with NaH.
