This paper presents capacity calculations for different MIMO antenna systems. The capacity calculations are applied for a new proposed channel model entitled the spherical model. The presented MIMO antenna systems are consisted of two configurations. Each configuration has four trapezoidal antennas. Configuration I is designed with and without defected ground slot. Configuration II also is designed with and without slot integrated waveguide. The DGS and the SIW structures are added in order to reduce the mutual coupling between the antennas. The two configurations differ in the mutual coupling obtained from each one, and in the geometrical shapes of the configurations with respect to the positions of the antennas relative to each other. All of the configurations are fabricated. A strong agreement between the measured and the simulated results is obtained. Matlab codes are used to depict the capacities versus the SNR at 4.96 GHz with a band of 80 MHz. The results discuss the effect of the mutual coupling and the spatial correlation on the capacity of the system using the proposed model.
