Objective To evaluate the ethological changes in model rats with exposure to predators and conflict of drinking water as well as interventional effect of Danzhi Xiaoyao Powder. Methods The exposure to predators and conflict of drinking water was applied to establish the rat model of generalized anxiety disorder. During the model establishment, the medication intervention was performed. After the stress,elevated plus-maze test was used to make an comprehensive evaluation on rats' ethological changes and interventional effect of Danzhi Xiaoyao Powder. Results After model establishment, the rats were weakened and irritable; in the elevated plus-maze test,there were less activates in open arm and more in the close arm( P 0. 05). Compared with the control group,the rats in the treatment group had more energy,more time and number of activates in the open arm and reduced time and number of activates in the close arm( P 0. 05). Conclusion The model rats with exposure to predators and conflict of drinking water are characterized as obvious anxiety,and Danzhi Xiaoyao Powder can reduce the anxiety of this model rat.
