The osteoclast is a kind of bone cell that splits down the bone tissue. The osteoclast is responsible for bone disease. So, the characterization, feature identification and 3D modeling of properties, transmembrane region prediction, conserved region analysis, motif analysis, 3D modeling and model validation of human osteoclast protein are very helpful for future drug delivery. The sequence rescued from NCBI was additionally analyzed along with the ExPASyProtparam tool. Conserved regions were ana...
Monomeric, dimeric, palindromic, and tetrameric peptides derived from bovine lactoferricin (LfcinB) containing the RRWQWR or the KKWQWK sequence were synthesized via SPPS- Fmoc/tBu strategy, and Lys-peptides showed higher synthesis efficiency. The antibacterial activity of the peptides against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC reference strains and a multidrug resistant clinical isolate was evaluated. Lys peptides exhibited similar antibacterial activity to...

DiSkh-AMP1, a novel dimeric antifungal peptide contained 65 amino acid residues was recombinant produced by a flexible linker to improve the antifungal activity of native Skh-AMP1 isolated from Satureja khuzistanica leaves. To discover a new system for expressing DiSkh-AMP1 in Escherichia coli BL21, the DiSkh-AMP1 gene was synthesized and inserted into pET28a vector in which fusion peptide (3.5 kDa) was used as a fusion partner and an N-terminal 6-His as an affinity tag. The fusion/DiSkh-AMP1 pe...
Antioxidant peptides (AP) are promising functional foods that have the potential to provide multitude health benefits. They are found in a wide variety of sources, but current methods of discovery and extraction dramatically increases the cost of production which hampers the commercial competitiveness of APs. Focusing on the search and development of short AP sequences that can be easily synthesized through synthetic chemical methods may be able to decrease the cost of production and accelerate ...

This study was done to purify and characterize antitumor lipopeptide from Bacillus strains. Bacillus velezensis strain T701, which was isolated from Chinese sauerkraut, was screened out for its antitumor activity of lipopeptide in high level against breast cancer cells BT474. The lipopeptide with the highest antitumor activity from T701 was separated using preparative HPLC system with a C18 column, and prepared into pure powder (≥ 99.5%) by lyophilization. The lipopeptide was assumed to be n-C14...

Bioactive peptides are short peptide fragments formed by amino acids joined by peptide bonds, can employ health enhancing effects in addition to main nutrition effect. In the native proteins generally these peptides are inactive; they can release by proteolysis to attain their bioactivity. Pulse derived bioactive peptides are isolated from proteolytic enzyme digestion, fermentation, and food processing. Bioactive peptide play important role in human health by affecting the metabolic system, and ...

Balenine is one of the endogenous imidazole dipeptides, mainly found in the muscle of marine animals. In this study we focused on the safety evaluation and physiological function of dietary balenine derived from opah Lampris guttatus in skeletal muscle of mice. There were no significant differences among different concentrations (0–1%) of balenine diet in the basic data included the weight of body weight, food intake, skeletal muscle and some organs, indicating that less than 1% dietary balenine...

Impairment in dopaminergic pathways has been implicated in several detrimental neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders, including schizophrenia and Parkinson’s disease. Current approved therapeutic drugs for such conditions treat the symptoms, not the underlying cause, as this requires long-term usage that often causes severe extrapyramidal side effects. A novel allosteric modulator, 3(R)-[(2(S)-pyrrolidinylcarbonyl)amino]-2-oxo-1-pyrrolidineacetamide (PAOPA), selectively attenuates the...
