BACKGROUND Tape-strips are a minimally invasive approach to characterize skin biomarkers in atopic dermatitis (AD). However, they have not yet been used for tracking gene expression changes with systemic treatment. OBJECTIVE The aim of the study was to evaluate gene expression changes and therapeutic response biomarkers in AD patients before and after dupilumab (interleukin 4Rα antibody) treatment using tape-strips to obtain epidermal tissue for analysis. METHODS Lesional and nonlesional tape-st...

As treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors (CPIs) for cancer increases, so has the incidence of immune-related cutaneous adverse events (irCAEs). These toxicities can significantly impact quality of life and may be dose-limiting. Current guidelines for irCAEs offer only corticosteroids or CPI discontinuation. Evidence supports biologic immunomodulatory therapies when corticosteroids fail or need avoidance. A review of literature from 2010 to 2020 yielded 45 articles, resulting in 185 irCAEs,...

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES Topical medications may lead to allergic contact dermatitis. This study characterized positive patch test reactions associated with medications in patients evaluated by the North American Contact Dermatitis Group (NACDG). METHODS This study is a retrospective analysis of the NACDG data (2001-2018). Patients with at least 1 positive patch test reaction associated with a medication source were included. Allergens, reaction characteristics, clinical relevance, and source detai...
