A novel approach to the sensitive measurements of optical loss coefficients in metal-coated fibers in a wide wavelength range is introduced. It is based on measuring the change of temperature-dependent electrical resistance of the coating caused by laser radiation transmitted through the fiber. A number of single-mode and multimode metal-coated fibers were investigated using several laser sources operating in visible and near-infrared ranges. A novel approach to the sensitive measurements of opt...

The target element concentration ratios of Zn–Cr–Sn–O(ZCTO) thin films with different sputtering parameters prepared by radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering were analyzed by picosecond laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (PS-LIBS). PS-LIBS method was employed to measure the thickness of the thin film in the depth profile of the ZCTO sample. The measured value of PS-LIBS is 372 ± 53 nm, presenting a small error with the actual value. The band gap of ZCTO thin-film samples is closely associa...
A single mode of the quantized electromagnetic field coupled to a nonlinear medium leads to the model of an anharmonic oscillator. For third-order nonlinear medium, the corresponding anharmonic oscillator will be a quartic one. Under the rotating wave approximation (RWA), it is possible to get rid of the nonconserving energy terms and hence a two-photon anharmonic oscillator out of the quartic anharmonic oscillator. We derive the solution of a two-photon anharmonic oscillator with periodically d...
Dual-frequency unidirectional reflectionlessness is investigated in a quantum system consisting of a two-level and a V-type three-level quantum dots coupled to a plasmonic waveguide based on electromagnetically induced transparency-like effect. The results show that the dual-frequency unidirectional reflectionlessness can be obtained by appropriately adjusting the phase shift between two quantum dots, decay rates of quantum dots, and coupling strengths between quantum dots and plasmonic waveguid...
