Central vision loss (CVL) caused by macular damage generally disables common daily tasks, which cannot be reversed by present treatments. Fortunately, it has been found that biofeedback training by inducing or reinforcing preferred retinal locus (PRL) as an eccentric fixation reference contributes to the improvement of visual performance in patients with CVL. However, the clinical application is still under controversy due to poor knowledge of its fundamental and inconsistent practical standards...

These cases often present to a general ophthalmologist before being referred to an ocular immunologist or rheumatologist. However, the patients do need to be followed by the ophthalmologist to assess disease progression or for management of ocular co-morbidities and for taking care of ocular complications of the disease. Unden...

Publications were obtained from Scopus and Google Scholar, h-indices were calculated, and medical school characteristics such as research productivity, region, rank, and average USMLE Steps 1 and 2 scores were obtained from Nati...
PURPOSE To assess the agreement on biometric data obtained using the Verion image-guided surgery system and the swept-source-OCT biometer IOL Master 700. MATERIALS AND METHODS All patients underwent biometry using the SS-OCT and the Image-Guide System. The comparison between instruments was assessed using the Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Level of Agreement (LoA) employing the Bland-Altman analysis. RESULTS The image-based system produced significantly higher keratometry values, evid...

PURPOSE This study evaluates the effect of intravitreal injection of a Rho-associated protein kinase (ROCK) inhibitor, fasudil, on diabetic macular edema (DME) with an unfavorable response. METHODS This study included 14 eyes of 13 patients (mean age: 65.7 ± 5.2 years) with DME, and eligible eyes underwent single intravitreal injection of 0.025 mg fasudil. The best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP), and central macular thickness (CMT) were evaluated before and 1, 2, and ...

PURPOSE To evaluate the lenticular changes in advanced intraocular retinoblastoma (RB) and identify the risk factors for cataract in these eyes. METHODS Retrospective analysis of 48 primary enucleations. RESULTS All enucleated eyes were classified either as group D (n = 7; 15%) or group E (n = 41; 85%) tumors based on the International Classification of Intraocular Retinoblastoma. Of the 48 enucleated eyes with RB, cataract was noted clinically in only 5 (18%) cases, while histopathology reveale...
