Abstract
A DIRECT METHOD OF SOLUTION FOR THE COMPUTER ANALYSIS OF PLANE FRAME STRUCTURES IS PRESENTED. THE METHOD COMBINES THE DISCRETE-ELEMENT BEAM-COLUMN MODEL FOR THE EVALUATION OF STIFFNESS TERMS FOR NONPRISMATIC MEMBERS WITH THE DIRECT SOLUTION TECHNIQUES OF CONVENTIONAL FRAME ANALYSIS.
