Abstract
A 46-year-old man with end-stage kidney failure that had been treated with peritoneal dialysis for 5 years was suffering from a tunnel infection. The peritoneal dialysis catheter was removed, and he was converted to hemodialysis. The pathogen obtained from a culture of the outer cuff turned out to be Mycobacterium chelonae. One month after catheter removal, the local infection recurred, and debridement was performed to control infection....
