Abstract: Background Pituitary abscesses within pre-existing pituitary conditions such as craniopharyngioma, pituitary adenoma or Rathke’s cleft cyst are quite rare. One case of pituitary abscess secondary to adenoma is illustrated here, and the literature is also reviewed.
