Abstract
• A tyrosine aminotransferase gene ( RcTAT ) was cloned from Rhodiola crenulata . • RcTAT catalyzes the formation of 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate from tyrosine. • Suppression of RcTAT significantly enhances the salidroside production.
