Abstract
Retinal degeneration is a leading cause of visual impairment and blindness worldwide. Microglia reactivity is a hallmark of neurodegenerative diseases and a driving force for retinal cell death and disease progression. Thus, immunomodulation emerges as a potential therapeutic option.
