Abstract
The aging process leads to progressive loss of kidney function. Sirtuin1 (SIRT1) exerts renoprotective effects by conferring resistance to cellular stresses. Trehalose potentially displayed various beneficial effects to promote health span. In this study, we investigated the effects of trehalose on renal SIRT1 and kidney function in senescent rats.
