Typically, laterally patterned films are fabricated by lithographic techniques, external fields, or di-block copolymer self-assembly. We investigate the self-patterning of polyelectrolyte multilayers, poly(diallyldimethylammonium) (PDADMA)/poly(styrenesulfonate) (PSS)short.
