Abstract A new compound, pheglycoside A (1), along with four known aromatic glycosides (2-5) and three known lignan glycosides (6–8) were isolated from Streblus ilicifolius (Vidal) Corner. The structure of compound 1 was determined by spectral analyses, including HRESIMS, 1D, and 2D NMR (COSY, HSQC, and HMBC) experiments. The absolute configuration of compound 1 was determined using the CD spectrum and experiment data. From the present investigation, all these compounds were isolated for the fir...

Abstract Chinese olive is served as a famous fruit and traditional herb in China. In this study, the anti-neuroinflammatory and antioxidant phytochemicals of Chinese olive fruits were investigated. Three new phenylpropanoids (2, 6, 19), together with sixteen known congeners, have been isolated and identified. A variety of bioactivities related to the traditional healthy benefits of Chinese olive, including anti-neuroinflammatory, antioxidant and antidiabetic, have been evaluated for the identifi...

Abstract Two new monoterpene indole alkaloids, naucleaoffines A (1) and B (2), together with six known alkaloids (3–8), were isolated from the stems and leaves of Nauclea officinalis. The structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic methods and the known compounds were identified by comparisons with the data reported in literature. All isolated compounds were evaluated for their anti-inflammatory activities and anti-HIV-1 activities. Compounds 1–8 exhibited significant inhibi...

: Four new biphenyl derivatives (1-4), along with six known biphenyl derivatives (5-10) were isolated and elucidated by their detailed analyses of spectroscopic data and references from the aerial parts of Oenanthe javanica for the first time. Compounds (1-10) were assayed for their activities about the inhibition of COX-2 enzyme in vitro for the first time. Compounds 1, 2, 4, and 6 showed inhibitory activities against COX-2 with IC50 values ranging from 22.18±0.29 to 108.54±0.42 μm.

Abstract To evaluate the role of COX-2 and 5-LOX as dual inhibitors in controlling the cancer cell proliferation, a set of two series having 42 compounds of 1, 2, 3-Tethered Indole-3-glyoxamide derivatives were synthesized by employing click chemistry approach and were also evaluated for their in vitro cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) inhibitory activities with in vivo anti-inflammatory and in vitro anti-proliferative potencies. Among the compounds teste...

Abstract The chemical investigation of Penthorum chinense resulted in the isolation of two new phenylpropanoids ( 1 and 2 ) along with three known compounds ( 3–5 ). The structures of the compounds 1 and 2 were determined by interpretation of the spectroscopic data, including IR, HR-ESI-MS, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, DEPT, COSY, HMBC and HMQC. Moreover, all the compounds were evaluated for their hepatoprotective activity in H 2 O 2 -induced cytotoxicity in HL-7702 cells, and compounds 2–4 (2.5 μg/mL) sh...

Abstract Two new lignans, mappianthines A (1) and B (2), along with ten known analogues (3-12), were isolated from the stems of Mappianthus iodoides. The structures with the absolute configurations of 1 and 2 were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic methods and the known compounds were identified by comparisons their data with those reported in the literatures. All new compounds were evaluated for their anti-inflammatory activities via examining the inhibitory activity on nitric oxide (NO) pro...

Abstract Four new phenylpropanoids (1–4) along with ten known phenolics were isolated and purified from the roots of hairy fig (Ficus hirta Vahl.). Their structures were elucidated by the extensive spectroscopic analysis and chemical degradation. The anti-inflammatory activities of the purified compounds were evaluated. Results indicated that the extracts and some purified compounds exhibited pronounced inhibitory effects on the lipopolysaccharides (LPS) induced nitric oxide (NO) production in m...

Abstract The fruits of Xanthium sibiricum Patr yielded five phenylpropanoid derivatives, named as xanthiumnolics A–E (1–5). Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis and comparison with literature data. The isolated ones were tested for their anti-inflammatory activities on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW 264.7, and compound 5 showed strong inhibitory activities with IC50 value of 8.73 μM.
