Abstract
Adequate supply of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFAs) is of great importance for neonates, especially preterm infants. In particular, n-3 LCPUFAs and n-6 LCPUFAs play a key role in brain development, immune regulation, and disease prevention.
