Skin wounds, the healing process, and hydrogel-based wound dressings: a short review

Skin wounds are damage to the epithelial layer and the integrity of living tissue. The healing mechanism is dynamic and complex, and often treatments with wound dressings help in tissue regeneration, reducing the risk of infections.
