Abstract
A novel type of sulfonyl-hybridized imidazolyl ethanols as potential DNA-targeting antibacterial agents was constructed via the unique ring-opened reaction of oxiranes by imidazoles for the first time. Some developed target hybrids showed potential antimicrobial potency against the tested microbes.
